There are now only a couple of weeks until the CFZ Weird Weekend down in Devon. This annual event takes place in the village of Woolfardisworthy and is indeed, weird.
The Weird Weekend is the largest yearly gathering of mystery animal investigators in the English-speaking world. Now in its tenth year, the convention attracts speakers and visitors from all over the world and showcases the findings of investigators into strange phenomena. Cryptozoologists, parapsychologists, ufologists, and folklorists are descending on Woolfardisworthy Community Centre to share their findings and insights.

The Haunted Valley
Last Saturday, the 25th of July, saw the LAPIS Posse descend on the Longdendale Valley in Derbyshire. This area has long been associated with strange sightings, ranging from unexplained lights to ghost planes and on one occasion, a giant slug-like creature which slithered across the road in front of a hapless motorist.
The group has a particular interest in earthlight phenomena, one having been witnessed by some of our members a number of years ago and we spent hours scanning the area for anything out of the ordinary. Unfortunately it was not to be and the only aerial lights we saw were attached to planes heading for Manchester airport. However we had an excellent night, the weather was kind and it was a lovely place to spend an evening.

If you fancy a visit to Longdendale there is an excellent pub in nearby Glossop called The Globe - well worth a visit.

And finally - if you are around the area at dusk and if you are even considering camping - take lots and lots of insect repellent!!

Orange UFOs Swoop on Bispham
The last couple of weeks have seen a spate of UFO sightings around the Fylde coast. Sightings of orange lights have been reported in Bispham, Out Rawcliffe and Fleetwood. Local resident Nicola Ormerod managed to capture footage on a video camera.
